Objectives :
The following are the objectives and responsibilities of the committee:

  • Following committee is formed in this College to prevent ragging & to take all necessary precaution and steps to prevent the ragging. The committee should bring to the notice of the students. Anti-Ragging Committee with immediate effect till further orders.

Constitution of the Anti-Ragging Committee

As per order of the Honourable Supreme Court of India in civil appeal No. 887/2009 dated 11/02/2009 “Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written, or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or indisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior student” regarded as ragging. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority or any student is found to have indulged in ragging in the past or if it is noticed later that he/she has indulged in ragging, admission may be refused or he/she shall be expelled from the Institution.

Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established by the Anti-ragging Committee of the Institute, the possible punishments for those found guilty of ragging shall be any one of any combination of the following :-
  1. Cancellation of admission.
  2. Suspension from attending classes.
  3. Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.
  4. Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process.
  5. Suspension/expulsion from the hostel.
  6. Rustication from the Institute for period ranging from 1 to 6 months.
  7. Expulsion from the Institute and consequent debarring from admission to any other Institute.
  8. Fine of Rupees 25,000/-
  9. Collective punishment: When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the Institute shall resort to collective punishment as a deterrent to ensure community pressure on the potential raggers.
